On 6 February 1918 some, but not all, women were given what most men had, the vote. It took several morre years before all women were given the vote but this partial victory began the process. However the 'giving' of the vote didn't come easily, it was bitterly resisted and resented and the Suffragettes' victory was the result of a militantly audacious and courageous campaign in the face of ferociously cruel opposition. It was the values of equality and liberation that charged the change the Suffragettes caused, our design celebrates those values for what they meant then, and what they still stil mean now.
